We’ve just received some exciting news—King Parrot Cottages & Event Centre is a finalist in the 2026 Victorian Tourism Awards!
There’s a lot of work that goes into looking after King Parrot, and receiving this recognition means a great deal to us. We love this place, and we’re proud of what we get to share with our guests.
This year is also the 40th anniversary of the Victorian Tourism Awards, making it an especially lovely year to be involved. We’ll be heading to the Gala in November to celebrate alongside other tourism businesses from across Victoria. We’re looking forward to getting dressed up and enjoying a night out together!
King Parrot is very much a team effort. Between the two of us, Rachel, Berto and Madi, there’s always something happening—preparing cottages, caring for the grounds and animals, helping guests and keeping everything running. We’re so grateful for the care and effort our team puts in, including all the little things guests might never see but that make a difference to their stay.
We also want to acknowledge our local suppliers, neighbouring businesses and the wider community. The cafés, restaurants, producers, shops and experiences around us give guests so many reasons to visit and come back. We’re lucky to be part of this region and to have people we can call on and recommend with confidence.
And then there’s the place itself. The forest, the creek, the birds and wildlife, and the views across the Pennyroyal Valley are such a big part of a stay here. We feel very fortunate to care for this property and share it with people who appreciate it as much as we do.
